I am a first year student at the Mannes School of Music where I study with Demian Austin, Principal Trombone of the Metropolitan Opera. I graduated from the Manhattan School of Music Precollege in the spring of 2019 where I held the role of principal trombone in the orchestra. I currently hold the position of Principal Trombone as well as Apprentice Conductor of the New York Youth Symphony where each year we perform three times at Carnegie Hall. Read More

I give the tools for the student to become a better player and to build confidence. If the student is participating in the schools music program I help them prepare for stage band performances or recitals. I believe that my style is really flexible. I think that everybody has a different way to learn so my style will vary based on the student. I also believe that the role of the teacher should the one of facilitating the student process but ultimately is the student who should dictate the style and the pace of the lesson. I believe also that listening is a really important part of music learning so I have my student listening to a lot of different music and also I play with them all the time so that they can hear and feel what is it to play together. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
