I am a Chicago-based freelance Trombonist who recently graduated from DePaul University in 2021. Since I began my college career in Chicago, my professional music career started up simultaneously. Since 2017, I've played in a wide variety of ensembles around town. These ensembles / genres include: Wedding Bands, Jazz, Big Band, Classical, Funk, Hip-Hop, Afrobeat, Salsa, Rap, House, Fusion and more. In essence, my love of teaching stems from my Mom's love of teaching. She sincerely desired to teach my siblings and myself to pursue our highest dreams. It turned out that I did succeed as a star performer in music, on stages around the world. But also, when I decided to settle down, I added education to my 10-year plan. One of the pillars of my teaching criteria is that I treat each student uniquely, I generally do not believe in a one size fits all approach. That being said, a second pillar of my criteria is that my students always strive to create their sound in the most efficient and tension free manner. For beginners, I pull information and exercises from the Remington and Bordogni books. In addition to that, especially for totally new beginners, I like to use a back and forth technique. Read More

For beginning students I believe it's important for them to begin playing the first day. I get the students to make their first sound and teach the technique and theory as they learn their instrument. For beginning voice students I use the same method, but I like to use a song that the student knows. For students with experience I like to have them play or sing something they know and I evaluate that and I will work with them on that song and build their technique. Read More

I was born and raised in Florida where I received my Bachelor of Music degree from Florida State University and Master of Music degree from the University of South Florida, where I was also a teaching assistant in the trombone studio and a music appreciation course.
