BM in Music Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College. Over 10 years teaching experience
Ithaca Prestige Scholarship
I am an enthusiastic teacher that enjoys working with motivated students. I have over 10 years teaching experience and have performed in ensembles locally and nationally. I've performed professionally in a variety of genres, and on multiple woodwinds. I am experienced in classical clarinet repertoire, saxophone, jazz, big band, improvisation, small jazz combos, rock music, musical theatre, wind ensembles and symphony orchestras. I currently live in downtown Baltimore and love the music scene here.
I have over 10 years teaching experiences, a double degree in music education and music performance, professional performance experience with multiple ensembles, and have performed internationally. I am experienced in classical clarinet repertoire, saxophone, jazz, big band, improvisation, small jazz combos, rock music, musical theatre, wind ensembles and symphony orchestras. Looking forward to working with students in any style, preparation for auditions, or adults looking to learn musical instruments
I like to use the Rubank series for most beginners on woodwinds (clarinet, sax, and flute). For advanced clarinet students, I like to teach the Baermann studies, Klose book, and Rose etudes. I like to use the Jamey Aebersold series and the Real Book to teach jazz students, and often include listening assignments. I create customized lesson plans for every student so they have continual motivation and direction to improve themselves on their instruments and musically. I enjoy working with special needs music students, and finding ways for them to learn and experience music.
My goal is for students to enjoy each lesson, and have motivation to prepare for the next lesson. I want students to reach their own individual potential. So I try and find a challenge for every student to work on every week. I am a supportive and encouraging teacher that loves this work. I love when students are engaged in lessons, asking questions, and doing their best. One of my favorite activities in lessons is to play duets. It improves sight reading, musicality, and helped me improve. Also, it's fun!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
