I am a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, with a BM in Music Therapy. I have recently completed my clinical internship, and I am currently working as a Music Therapist and Instructor in Rochester, NY. I have experience in a wide range of music styles/genres such as jazz, blues, R&B, pop, rock, and classical. In addition to singing, I play guitar, piano, ukulele, drums, bass and harmonica. Music has always been my passion, and I love being able to share that through teaching!
I have been teaching for 3 years throughout Massachusetts and New York, and have taught individual and group lessons for both children and adults. I have found that adapting my teaching methods to meet the learning needs of my student is the most successful way to learn! Practice, as always, is a very important component of music lessons, so I will always encourage this outside of the short lesson time.
Lesson materials vary from student to student, as I like to tailor these to each student's specific needs and abilities. For both childen and adults, playing preferred material is always very motivating, so I try to incorporate their preferences as much as possible!
When teaching, I take a very person-centered approach. I believe in meeting my student where they are in the moment, and that music lessons should be a way to foster creativity and creative expression. Through music, I believe that I can make learning fun!
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
