For Band students I normally use the method used in class or I will use the Ed Suede Band method. I have been teaching music for almost a decade. I have taught everything from vocal and instrumental music to general music and music theory classes, both in group settings and 1-on-1. Although I greatly enjoy leading vocal and instrumental ensembles, both large and small, I love teaching private lessons because I can tailor each lesson to the individual student's needs. This allows the student to progress at a faster rate than they would in a group of students and also permits us to focus on the student's specific goals and interests. Read More

I have been teaching since age 15 (1999). In addition to extensive performing experience on clarinet, I have functioned as a piano accompanist, choir member, and praise band member through the years. MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE DATES BACK TO THE YEAR OF 1991. I STARTED WORKING WITH STUDENTS IN HIGH SCHOOL, TEACHING THEM HOW TO BECOME A BETTER STUDENT OF MUSIC. IN THE LAST 22 YEARS I HAVE HAD STUDENTS TO MAKE ALL-AREA BANDS AND ORCHESTRAS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS. IN THE PRESENT TIME I ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO PRACTICE 15 MINUTES A DAY INSTEAD OF THE LONG-GATED 1 HOUR PRACTICE. ALSO I ENCOURAGE THE STUDENT TO BE CONSISTENT AND 15 MINUTES AUTOMATICALLY TURNS INTO 30 MINUTES. Read More
