Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Because I believe every student is unique, my teaching style depends on what is best for the student. Some students are kinesthetic learners who benefit most from using gesture, movement, and doing things hands-on, while others are aural learners who can pick music up by ear, but may struggle with reading music. For students who are new to playing; I focus first on the mechanics of playing,getting their mind to respond to what the body to best of their ability. Beginner clarinet students usually start with the Hendrickson Method for Clarinet Book One. This book teaches the most basic fundamentals all the way through advanced techniques while also giving the student a chance to learn more about music as a whole. Once the fundamentals are mastered, solo repertoire will be introduced for recitals or competitions.
