 I have been teaching in the Columbus area for 14 years.  I have studied piano and voice for 30 years performing and had experience auditioning for and performing in musical theater, opera, and contemporary settings. After earning my degree from otterbein, I have maintained a studio of 25-30 students in the westerville/New Albany area.  I currently reside with my husband and three children, three dogs, and a cat in New Albany where we run one location of my studios. Ping is a violist living and performing in Cincinnati, OH. She began her career in Taiwan as a member of a string quartet, choir and orchestra. She was a prize winner on a local radio competition as a string quartet member and performed frequently at National Concert Halls. I have been a practicing board certified music therapist since 2014. In that time I have worked as a music therapist in many settings but currently work for myself in my private practice. In my time as a music therapist I have taught piano, ukulele, guitar, voice, bass, songwriting, music theory, and more to an incredibly wide range of learners. Each lesson plan will be tailored to fit the student’s needs. Personally, I think one of the most important parts of teaching music is to give students a complete grasp of performing music by combining theory into their lesson plan to make a well-rounded musician. Their lesson plan will depend on their playing level: I will make sure they have fundamentals down for beginner students, but also adding solo repertoire and etudes to teach virtuosity and good performance practice for the advanced students. I'm a performer/instructor residing in Willowick, OH. I grew up around Cleveland, where I founded the band Synasis with my brother. We played several local shows, as well as opening for national touring artists. I attended The Recording Workshop to study audio engineering in both the analog and digital realm.
