I believe that in order to engage a student in the learning process, goals must be clear. I begin by asking new students what they want to learn. Many students are not sure what they want to learn, and this is to be expected. In this case, some trial-and-error is necessary; if a student is bored by Bach, maybe its time to see how he/she can relate to learning a simple tune by ear maybe a jazz tune like Summertime, or maybe the latest single on the radio. I believe that every performer not only has the responsibility to execute challenging repertoire for the benefit of the listeners but in the same way we as students were inspired and instructed then it is only right to give back and pour into others lives the way we have been instructed too and poured into. I graduated from Nyack College School of Music with my Bachelors in Flute Performance and a minor in Vocal Performance. Read More

I am professional musician trained in Jazz and Classical music, specializing in Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute. • Actively performing and composing music rooted in jazz, rock, and free improvisation genres. • Studied piano at five; by age twelve, played clarinet in a semi-professional children's pop ensemble, and toured internationally with a jazz and improvisational band led by the legendary Vladimir Tchekassin. • Fluent in English, German, Lithuanian, and Russian languages. I seamlessly connect with students of different cultural backgrounds, quickly find common points of interest, and encourage individual uniqueness. Read More

He began attending Mark O’Connor’s fiddle camps and festivals throughout the Midwest, where he met musicians like Casey Driessen and Noam Pikelny. “They opened me up to what was possible because they were so virtuosic at such a young age too,” Bobby said. While I generally begin with the Rubank Method and move onto a more personalized approach after 7th or 8th grade, I am always focused on providing the individual student with the best guidance possible. I like to encourage solo performance for friends and family early on to achieve performance experience and mitigate nervousness. If a student is interested in jazz or other styles of improvisation or composition, they will have a chance to get their feet wet in these areas at a young age as well. Read More

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing one of my students grow as a musician! I believe in the importance of supporting my students by attending concerts, recitals, and any other performance opportunity. In lessons, my teaching style and technique involves positive reinforcement and encouragement for progress. I make realistic goals for my students, and I clearly articulate when my students have reached their goals. I believe that constant reinforcement and encouragement is vital for students to feel their own successes, no matter how big or small. Read More
