Patient, kind, creative, engaging! I encourage my students to strive for the highest standards while not noticing the hard work they're putting in, because they're having so much fun doing it.

I am a well-rounded musician, currently attending the highly competitive Historical Performance program at the Juilliard School in New York City. I have studied and concerted on all of the instruments I teach - violin, piano and viola although I am most active as a violin performer. I earned my master's degree at Indiana University where I was lucky to get acquainted with Mimi Zweig's string pedagogy method. I love teaching and sharing my passion for music with students of all ages.

My teaching experience started when I was completing my associates degree. I began teaching one on one cello lessons to high school students, as well as fellow college students who were interested in expanding their instrumental knowledge. As I went on and graduated college I began teaching lessons for elementary students who play violin and viola in addition to cello lessons. I often have multiple choices for students to work on, if they do not have their own music. I believe it is important for the student to have a choice in what they study instead of having pieces "assisgned" to them. I like to take moments to enforce basic music theory skills into lessons to give students a greater understanding of the music they study.

I have mentored young violinists and coached chamber music ensembles since 2006. For the past three years, I have taught in-home private lessons, with ages ranging from 3 to 60. I teach violin and viola at the Third Street Music School Settlement, and in the spring of 2014 was the violin instructor at P.S. 278 in Inwood.

I love to document and keep a record of what each student is learning! I make sure to offer rewards to my students and host recitals once a year for them to get the chance to play for others and meet other students who also play. By playing for others, I find that it foster's my student's confidence levels and gets them excited to keep learning!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
