I like to sit with my students and have them learn about the parts of the instrument as well as getting to know their instrument. I try to keep the students engaged by finding a balance of what the students want to work on, as well as what I want them to be working on. My beginning students learn the fundamentals of their instrument. I want every student to get a well rounded education from me. Woodwinds students study from Essential Elements. Young piano students use the Faber collection and older students use the Bastien series for the Older Beginner. Practical Theory from Sandy Feldstein is used for instrumental students.
