While Joey loves to preform, he is passionate about teaching. He has been teaching since 2011. His teaching career began through the non-profit Bravo Waukegan in their Bravo Buddies Summer Camp. He began as the woodwind instructor and through the years worked to become the Artistic Director, managing all aspects of the month long camp. Intermediate For anyone looking to further develop their skills as a clarinetist, we will focus on intermediate clarinet etudes, learning major and minor scales, solidifying tone and intonation, and learning some music theory concepts. Flute: Beginner For the student who wants to begin learning flute, we will practice correct fingerings and hand position, breathing techniques, air support, reading beginning level music, and the fundamentals of music theory. For younger and beginning students, I typically start with technique exercises that focus on producing a strong and clean sound on the instrument, and ensure that the base technique is solidified. We will then work through various technique and work books until the student is at a level where they can choose the music that interests them most. I’m a woodwind doubler based in New York City; graduated with a degree in saxophone performance from Kennesaw State University in 2011. I’m passionate about music and enjoy sharing all the skills required to enjoy playing an instrument with my students.
