Improvisation and expression are key points I like to emphasize in all my students, as anyone can sit down and practice scales until their fingers fall off, but being able to express yourself through a musical instrument takes dedicated work and direction. I believe that each student progresses at their own pace, and each student should be evaluated for the best method of improvement. I believe in positive reinforcement. For students who are just beginning the instrument, I like to include the Rubank Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Method Books for Saxophone as well as the Selected Duets both by H. Voxman. I have been playing guitar for 10 years and saxophone for 14 years. When I started saxophone I signed up for private lessons and I joined concert band, jazz band, and pep band, I have loved music ever since! Guitar became my next obsession, I began writing my own songs and attending guitar workshops.
