I have been teaching Prek- 8th Grade general music, choir, drama and instrumental lessons for the past 5 years. My primary instrument is trumpet and I have played in a variety of bands and sung in a variety of choruses of the years. I began giving private trumpet lessons in 2004 and began giving piano and voice lessons in college. I love helping students achieve their goals and reach their maximum potential. Read More

I'm very passionate about teaching and love to work with all ages of students. I had a studio in Mountain Top, PA for 25 years until our family moved to Utah. I recently relocated to the Lehigh Valley. I've performed with many orchestras and have coached many students to be able to compete and perform at Carnegie Hall for many years. I take great pride in being able to teach on an individual basis, meaning I teach according to what the student needs and wants to be taught. Read More

I approach my lessons with enthusiasm and acumen. We will work together at a rigorous yet achievable pace in order to progress on your instrument. I will connect instrumental methods with your own musical interests in order to engage and delight you in the material. We will track progress in a practice journal so that we can keep track of goals and progress. Lessons will combine instrumental technique with music theory, ear training, improvisation, and composition to become a well rounded and versatile musician. - Read More

It is most important to me that my students become passionate about what they do! I realize that every student learns differently and has different interests than my own. Because of this, I like to cater my lessons to what they would like to do as often as possible and through this I find creative ways to incorporate fundemental technical elements into the lesson. This can be through creating patterns to practice using the material of a musical phrase from their favorite song or expanding their playing range on the instrument by playing it in different keys and octaves. Though I am a recent graduate, I've had a hand full of students over the years. I've been teaching for 2 years now and have loved it ever since. I have always encouraged students to practice regularly, which has lead to them progressively becoming proficient at their instrument. Not only that, but to never take anything less as a stylistic choice. It's a constant conversation, so both my students and I learn from each other. Read More

In my teaching I try to be sensitive to the individual student's needs and desires while stressing the discipline required to reach these goals. The study of music is often a progression of 'ah-ha!' moments where the student experiences an understanding of something they may have struggled with for a period of time. It is the responsibility of a teacher to leaad students to these breakthroughs by presenting a variety of approaches to something a student finds difficult while continuing to motivate them. I structure my lessons in the same way I structure my own personal practice. I usually start off with a few technical exercises, then cover some theory, and then work on repertoire. How much time goes in to each category will depend on the student. A beginner tends to need more time on technique, whereas someone who has an audition or recital coming up will spend most of their time on repertoire. Read More
