I love when I get to see my students fall in love with music and have great passion for it. I take an individualized approach to each student, and I also set realistic goals so they can meet them. I want to make sure students improve, while not getting frustrated or bored. I think it is also important to make sure the student is always having fun, because creating music has to be a choice for a student to succeed. Read More

I'm a passionate musician who loves composing original works and inspiring other people to fall in love with music. Despite the lack of formal degrees in a music related major, I've been certified to teach piano and have substituted for piano teachers on multiple occasions. I collaborate with local musicians that include drummers, guitarists, singers, and bassists and love to perform in front of audiences. I've self-produced three piano albums consisting of all original compositions that infuse jazz influences with modern romantic undertones. Read More

This allows me to find connections and build lesson plans specifically for the individual. Read More

I believe the best teaching method is one that focuses on the accomplishments of each student. I have several different rewards systems that I will use to motivate students to practice at home. Part of this system is encouraging my students to set their own realistic goals and walking them through how to reach them. Additionally, I am a big believer in affirmation and will do my best to encourage each student throughout the lesson. Read More

Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Clarinet Ukulele

For the Clarinet, I typically use The Hendrickson Method book series with supplemental books on the side to enhance their various levels.  For flute and saxophone, I will evaluate based on the student's level. Once I have established a method book, I incorporate solos and additional techniques. I also encourage the students to bring music from their band class and/or other solos they may be working on for festivals, competitions, or auditions. Read More
