I have taught music classes (choir, music theory, hand bells, recorders, and general music) for Kindergarten-10th grade for seven years, and I have taught private music lessons for over 10 years. I have taught students as young as five years old, and I've had students well into their retirement years as well. Everyone can enjoy learning about music; that's what makes music so unique and amazing. I have been playing the piano for twelve years. I graduated from Stetson University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and from the University of Texas in El Paso (UTEP) with a Masters of Music in Piano Performance in 2022. I have performed in Italy, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas, on a solo level and collaboration. I first started working with children when I was attending Florida State College. I took a course on elementary education, and did some field work at a local elementary school. It was there that I found out how much I really loved kids. I had a wonderful time in the classroom. I tailor my teaching methods based on my students' individual needs. I use the following methods: The Alfred method uses a lot of colored pictures and graphics. The Bastien Method The Piano Party Series is great for those little ones who have never had lessons before. It is a lot of fun for the teachers also. We would suggest that the lyrics of the pieces be omitted, but the pictures and graphics are positive. Read More
