I use my students' natural strengths to help them understand the aspects of music that come less naturally to them. My teaching experience began in my undergraduate days at Morehead State University. While teaching private lessons to students across Kentucky I also was a music theory tutor for my peers at Morehead. I have experience teaching students at all levels, from beginner to advanced levels. My theory and private lesson students always gained much improvement, and some of my advanced students even entered all state bands and competitions. For voice I create my own custon lesson plans and use a variety of materials. Students will work on a great variety of repetorie from pop to renaissance. Students are encourgaed to learn to read music, with a great emphasis placed upon practical music theory. I aim to develop intellegent musical artists, foscuing upon intrepretation, critical thinking, historical considerations and creativity.
