I am a musician, composer, teacher and author. I graduated from the NYC "Fame School"- Fiorello H. LaGuardia HS of Music and Art. I studied music theory and composition at Mannes Conservatory, NYC and received a BA as a Music Major from Aaron Copland School of Music/Queens College/CUNY. I took Graduate courses studying Special Ed/Music Therapy at Lehman College, NY. After in depth research with creating highly motivational music programs for all ages as well as for children that had ADD, Autism, or Aspergers, I was awarded a grant from the Grammy's to write a book.  I have traveled to Europe and the far east teaching creative music workshops. . I love Music! My family has always incorporated music into our lives. Some of my earliest memories are being danced around in my Mom’s arms and listening to her sing. I began formal lessons on the Piano when I was 7 years old. Growing up also I sang in the Church Choirs, played on Hand Bells, and explored the Flute. I spent a formal year each on Trumpet, Drums and Harpsichord and am currently working on learning Zither, Autoharp, Dulcimer, and Soprano & Alto Recorders, and sometimes the guitar (when I have a chance). I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music in the U.S.A. I've performed in school, festivals, art walks, solo, duo and trio. I've also performed in a band and orchestra. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began to my internship and student teaching at elementary and high schools around the valley. I like to include my students' opinion when planning their lesson curriculums. I don't believe in lesson plans that don't allow flexibility and providing the students with opportunities to pick repertoires they are interested in. I've also found that using technology and fun music games the iPad as well as performing along with students can go a long way in helping students to stay motivated and continue to learn. Read More

I like to have a balance in my lessons between fun and challenge.  I do this by setting realistic goals each week for my students, dependent on their level of perfomance and the pace that they are progressing.  Not everyone will progress at the same pace, and I feel that it is more important for a student to master a particular lesson than to move quickly through the lesson book. I began formal piano instruction at age 5, continuing into my late teens, and again in adulthood. I have been fortunate to accompany ensembles, vocal soloists, choirs, Holiday parties, community events, so therefore am able to teach others from my experiences. I have hosted many recitals with my students that like to participate. My knowledge has shaped this incredible passion for music that I have.
