Over 30 years of private and public/private teaching experience. I love to teach. In my lessons, I get to know each student personally, learn their strengths and weaknesses and proceed from there. Each student is unique and learns at a different pace. It is important for a teacher to know this and to work on technique, pieces, and recital planning to best showcase each individual. My methods have always been successful, and taking a student from point A to point B, C, D and beyond is so rewarding in my work. Read More

Instruments: Piano Violin Cello Viola

I've enjoyed teaching piano, violin and viola students, for the past seventeen years! And what I've generally found is, that it's not how long you practice, but how well. I feel that a student needs to be taught how to practice! I travel around Westchester NY and in addition to teaching the instrument, I encourage students to compose their own original pieces. I am a published composer and many of my music videos can be seen on You Tube. Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice

I began teaching voice and piano lessons in grad school and have been teaching for the past 5 years. I love sharing my passion for the voice as an instrument, and I feel that a strong foundation of music theory and keyboard skills is a must for vocalists. I enjoy incorporating all of these skills into lessons. I've also found that no matter what style and genre of music interests you there is a primary fundamental healthy technique as the foundation for all of them, and I find it ver exciting and thrilling to develop the skills needed to unlock this vocal freedom! As a classical piano teacher, I try to be flexible with each student based on how they respond. Different personalities and different aged students require different treatment, whether it is with calmer instruction or more insistent direction. Although I strive to find the best method of teaching, no matter the student, I always try my best to be patient, positive, and honest. When asking a student to perform a certain task, such a phrasing a line, I first allow them to attempt it on their own. Read More

The approach I take is individualized and utilizes multiple teaching methods. Every student brings unique qualities and different interests and it is my job to find a way to connect those qualities and interests to music. One thing I emphasize is continued learning. If we are working on fundamentals of piano technique I find a way to slowly introduce more concepts that will be developed later on in our lessons. Read More

Learning in my class takes place in a very friendly atmosphere. When teaching my students, I try to motivate them to achieve their goals every time I advise them to do something. I try to select advice based on the most accessible form of a verbal description of a particular problem. In addition, I always try to show visually any movement that causes difficulty in the student and convey this understanding through a practical basis. Read More
