Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music. It is so important that each individual student progresses at his or her own ace. I encourage this progress by setting realistic and clear goals for my students at each lesson. When I acknowledge their accomplishments, it helps to fuel the desire to learn of the student and makes them eager to learn more. Once I find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction towards the wants and needs of my students. Read More

My teaching style ranges from student to student. For example I love to see my students develop whether they're coming to me as a beginner, basic, intermediate, or advanced student. If I have a gospel vocal student, I work with them on rifts and runs. If I have a classical piano student I work with them on fingering techniques. I'm doing site reading for piano students or drummers. We use flash cards daily to keep the site reading fresh. Read More

I conduct my beginner lessons with a spirit of play. I believe this engages the attention and energy of the student, promoting deeper learning. My students build self-esteem by mastering new skills. Skills are taught in a sequential way so all students can feel successful. I teach students how to practice so that each student learns how to accomplish their goals. Regular practice is an important part of piano lessons and advances musical understanding as well as muscle flexibility and control. Read More

I'm a committed and goal-oriented instructor who wants to share the love of music. I still consider myself a student because there are lifetimes of knowledge and experience there is to be had with our beautiful art. In 2012, I graduated from the Martha Ellen Stilwell School Of The Arts for Symphonic Band and Jazz Band where my main instrument was trumpet. I've done session musician work at Wondaland Records, American Sushi and Doppler Studios in Atlanta. Read More

There are typically three books that I like to start children off with which include Piano Party, Music for Little Mozart’s, and My First Piano Adventure which are designed for children ages 4-11 years old. These books help children to understand the basics of rhythm, music theory, and activities associated with the two. I generally like to begin my teenage to adult students with the All in One Adult Course series which consists of three levels from easy to beginner intermediate and also combines a mixture of classical and modern music. For adult students, I take a different approach by first assessing their musical interests and goals. Whether they are drawn to classical pieces, contemporary songs, or even specific genres like jazz or folk, I tailor my instruction to align with their preferences. This personalized strategy helps maintain their motivation and makes lessons enjoyable, regardless of their current skill level. By incorporating their chosen music into our sessions, I aim to foster a passion for learning and create a fun, engaging environment where they can thrive. Read More
