I began my teaching experience in the Bronx, where I created a music program in a very large public elementary school. In additon to a full schedule of general music classes, I directed over 200 assembly programs involving students from Kindergarten through 4th grade.  I also developed an after-school Chorus program, putting on Winter and Spring concerts, as well as several Broadway musicals.  In 2001 I transferred to Mount Vernon, where I was able to continue and expand my program, incorporating concert band and all-grade musical performances for students from Pre-K to 6th grade. For beginner students, I typically start with Faber Piano Adventures as it is a very hands-on and interactive way of learning the piano. Once those levels are completed and I determine the student is ready, we move on to more appropriate classical solo repertoire, from various composers, exposing them to every era in Western Classical music, beginning with Baroque through the contemporary period.
