Overview:
I am a music instructor that loves working with students that really want to learn the art form and language of music. I have been a military musician most of my career, but have also had the opportunity to perform with work with world class musicians all over the world. I am currently working on my BA in Music, but I have studied music at Michigan State University, Bellarmine University, The Army School of Music, and the Navy School of Music.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching for 30+ plus years and I enjoy working with students of all ages and backgrounds. I help all my students identify their passion for music so that they can create realistic goals and achieve them.
METHODS USED
For beginner kids, I typically use the Liela Fletcher Lesson Book series. I find that my students usually progress faster with this series. For teens and adult beginners, I use the James Bastien "Older Beginner Series or John Thompson series to get them started. After basic fundamentals have been I established then I direct the lessons in the area of the student's interest. Sometimes I am able to do this while the student is learning the fundamentals.
LESSON STYLE
My teaching style is flexible according to the students pace of learning and I encourage students to practice consistently so that progress continues as a measured gradual pace. I also focus on setting long and short term goals according to the student's main objective.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
