So I have combined my teaching experiences with what I have learned in Masters program to come up with new method of teaching the students. My lessons  are innovative and creative. I began my keyboard studies at the age of seven and am a talented pianist. During my junior high school years I accompanied the school choir via the piano. In addition, I have played keyboard at local restaurants in Ventura and Oxnard, Calif. I have taught keyboard for twenty years part-time. I teach beginning piano lessons from my home . My teaching style is all about enjoying music and the instrument. I can pick up when a student is frustrated, confused or embarrassed and adjust the lesson accordingly. Overall, I want my students to have fun! I enjoy teaching how to read music and once a few notes are learned, I start applying it to songs that my students really enjoy. I am an active member of Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC). My students take the Certificate of Merit (CM) test annually in performance, theory, sight-reading and ear training. Taking the CM test is optional but highly recommended. I also make sure my students have plenty of chances at performing on stage at recitals by organizing my own recitals or joining forces with other MTAC teachers. Having a recital to practice for is a great motivation for students to practice daily and gives the parents the chance to see their children's accomplishments. Read More
