I believe in balancing classical training with modern, engaging repertoire to keep lessons both educational and enjoyable. If a student isnt having fun, I believe Im not doing my job! My students are encouraged to participate in recitals, competitions, and even explore their creativity through composing original music. I aim to help them feel proud of their progress and stay motivated throughout their musical journey. Im always excited to welcome new students of all ages and levels into my studio! Read More

Greetings! My name is Bill Wisnom, and I have been a musician for the vast majority of my life. I began studying piano at the age of 11, and was later accepted into the Peabody Preparatory at the age of 14. I spent my teenage years devoted to a life of practice and performance with the intention of entering university as a piano major. At the age of 17, I began studying organ, and was later accepted into the undergraduate program at the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY. Read More

I am a composer and performer rooted in Elkridge, Maryland. I write music in many genres and styles for a variety of performers and different ensembles, typically specializing in repertoire for small chamber ensembles. I am as comfortable conceiving of works for two clarinets as I am crafting a piece out of cat meows and synthesized bird sounds. My music has been featured at UMBC and Howard Community College, with performances by the UMBC Chamber Players, UMBC New Music Ensemble, and the UMBC Gamelan. Read More

I started out at the age of nine playing the trumpet, and continued this for two years before switching to piano. Ultimately, I found my love in playing the guitar, and took lessons for two years. As time went on, I advanced as a guitarist and actually expanded into new musical instruments. I began playing in local rock and r&b bands at the age of 15. These were some of my most influential experiences, as they expanded my musical tastes into jazz fusion, swing, standards and Latin Jazz. After graduating high school, I attended community college and then went to New York to study jazz theory, where I played a few sets with Sweetback in 2000 that led up to being asked to play with the band. I began teaching a few beginner-level students during my first few years of college, and I have taught at the Bach to Rock music schools, and found that I enjoyed building new musicians. I like to emphasize the benefits of consistent, focused practice, especially to my beginner students, as well as the importance of proper warm-up activities. While I believe that music students should learn what they can of the vast and beautiful classical repertoire, it is also important that they are given the opportunity to learn songs and pieces that are important or interesting to them. I have been teaching, recording, producing, and performing music since I was 14. I have 60 productions, currently from a 3 piece band, and perform across the Triangle. I have my own business with over 20 students weekly. I also work for two local music instruction companies and teach an audio production course after school at Duke Middle. I also played with Payne’s Chapel Gospel, Women’s, Men’s, and Mass Choirs from age 13 until 26. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.. Read More
