What I love most about private lessons is that I have the flexibility to allow each student to move at his or her own pace. I can tailor my teaching methods and assignments to meet the individual needs of each student, to ensure that he or she is performing to his or her maximum potential. I encourage open communication between myself, the student, and the parent(s), so that we can all work together to make the musical experience as fun and exciting as possible! Read More

It is vital that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I feel just as strongly that every student be using material that they want to learn to maintain interest and to maximize the enjoyment of learning. Folk, Pop, Rock, HipHop, Jazz, Latin, Classical ... the list goes on and on. On signature feature is keeping track of the lesson progress, repertory and artists to gain inspiration. I uncover what inspires each student. Read More

It is important for me to understand what the student does not understand. The only help I may ask for is to make sure that practice does happen. I seldom ever say that practice should be timed, i.e. sit at the piano for 30 minutes no matter what. Instead, I assign a particlar song a certain number of times. At first, practice would probably take no more than 10 minutes. That time increases as the songs increase in difficulty, within reason. Read More
Instruments: Piano Trumpet French Horn
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Arban's Trumpet Method Book. Any brass instrument can play from this book! Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
Instruments: Piano Synthesizer Music
My teaching style is fast paced and dynamic quickly adapting to the needs of the individual student. I ensure that lessons are fun and that music can be a means of relaxation. I adapt each lesson for the individual, their interests and their needs. I have found that constant encouragement keeps students engaged and eager to learn and to let the music itself challenge the student. By finding out what a student is most interested in we can keep their love of music alive and use it to help them further learn to reach their goals. Read More
