I like to challenge my students when I feel they should be. I also try very hard to showcase them whenever possible to show the community the great talent that is amongst us. I would have to say my main approach to teaching is figuring out what works best for each individual student, seeing as though everyone learns differently and at different paces. Forcing a student to learn something when they don't want to is something I do not allow, I can only encourage but not force. The student must love and appreiciate what he or she is working on and that is what I believe leads to success and love in music.

I've been a musician from a young age, with a focus on the keyboard, voice, and songwriting and composition. A graduate of renowed Westminster Choir College as a pipe organist focusing on classical and choral music for the church, I also have experience conducting choirs and leading worship services. I have a wide variety of interests, but one of my greatest joys is to teach music to students of all ages. I do not believe talent is necessary to learn the art of music, it takes discipline and dedication and a lot of love. Developing a love of music, means developing a love of practice too! I love helping people realize the skills they already have, by giving them a chance to develop. If you have fingers, you can learn!

I received a Master’s degree in Music from the Boyer College of Music in Philadelphia, PA in 2015 for Vocal Performance. Before that, I graduated from the National Music Academy of Ukraine named after P.I. Tchaikovsky in Kiev in 2013, where I received a Bachelor in Music, took parts in a lot of operas ("Le nozze di Figaro", "Eugene Onegin", "Faust") and also earned a certificate of teaching. While at the Kiev Institute of Music, I took part in different international music competitions, and performed concerts and operas. I also received a teaching certificate for teaching children of young age. When I was studying at Temple University, I continued to give concerts and operas ("Hänsel und Gretel", "La finta giardiniera"). Now I am active voice teacher and on my way to become a professional performer.

I first began teaching while still completing my Bachelors degree at William Paterson in 2011. Most of my students were beginning level piano students, but I had a few more advanced students as well as some people studying saxophone with me. My teaching philosophy is to combine teaching the technique of an instrument with learning songs as well as theory and improvisation/composition. Everyone learns technique, but learning music that I wanted to learn, learning how those songs were written (theory), and eventually elaborating on those songs (improvisation), and writing my own music (composition), was what really got me deeply engaged in the act of practicing and making music, and I have found over several years of teaching that it keeps my students engaged and enjoying the learning process.
