I love working with students and helping them getting comfortable around music. I started playing piano since I was 6 years old and experienced different teachers, teaching methods, and musicians. I studied Music Education for the first two years at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, then decided to focus in Piano Pedagogy starting my junior year. Not only I have a music degree, I also have a experiences with teaching young children from working as a teacher in early childcare and Child Development Laboratory at University of Illinois. I just recently moved back to Colorado from NYC. Up until the day before I moved, I was working as a private music teacher for over 50 different students weekly, in-studio and in-home lessons, ages varying from as young as 2 to adult. Since I've returned, many of those students have continued with me as their teacher via Zoom/Facetime. The pandemic challenged my regular in-home lesson routine, so all of my instruction takes place over FaceTime/Zoom now. Read More

My primary goal is to individually assess and direct students toward their most meaningful goals, whether that is professional level performance and composition, prepping for auditions, or just enjoying beginning on the instrument. I often have students work through my Commercial Piano Workbooks, or use jazz worksheets that I have created. My workbooks come with access to free video tutorials and dozens of play-along tracks, which makes for fun, challenging, and highly effective learning. Read More

The emphasis for these lessons is on pouring your soul into some practical excercises that are applicable to the stage, whether it’s a jazz ensemble, concert band, funk band, wedding group, solo project. What the student puts in, they will receive in return. The exercises will focus largely on tone production (your personality or voice on the horn) and transcription of ideas (to develop real musical vocabulary). With these tools, the sax becomes a vehicle for self expression and an outlet for the audience, things so vital in these current times of turmoil and self doubt. Read More

I became a teacher because I believe everyone holds unique gifts and creative ideas. I want to encourage and guide every individual I teach to feel confident in their gifts and apply them to music! I believe music is such a joy to be shared to the world, and we all have the potential to share it. I started teaching private lessons in 2017, and I found it so rewarding that I have continued teaching ever since. Read More

Education is a central part of my life and will continue to be for my whole career. When I'm not teaching music, I teach English to kids living in China over the Internet! I have been teaching music for several years in individual, group and clinic settings. I recently graduated from the University of Iowa where I was lucky enough to study many different kinds of music. I became interested in Caribbean music and steelpan and through the University and had the great experience of competing in Panorama in Trinidad Tobago. Read More
