I like to first introduce students to basics and learn their tastes so I can modify their teaching regimen. This means lessons will be tailored to each student's interest, while still following a structured progression to help them gradually advance. All students will be guided through long tones, scales, technical studies, etudes, and solo pieces. Students at higher levels may also include orchestral excerpts. I use different books for different instruments but I don’t like to rely on them completely as all students learn at different rates and have different strengths and weaknesses.
