I have been teaching for the past 10 years in Singapore and the US. In Charleston, SC, I was faculty at the Charleston Academy of Music for almost 6 years.My students range from age 3 to adults, and have won local and state competitions. In 2010 I formed a piano duo, and have since been invited as guest faculty in the Chicago Duo Piano Festival and Charleston Music Teachers' Association. I have performed in Asia, Europe and in the United States and have met many internationally acclaimed pianists and pedagogues, and I bring with me the experiences I have amassed over the years. I began teaching as a junior in high school and have maintained a private studio in Texas for the past 6-1/2 years. I have taught beginning through advanced level students. I like to encourage creativity in the studio; I don't push every student to have the same musical experiences. I am an enthusiastic and compassionate instructor who loves to share my musical knowledge with those eager and willing to learn. I received a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Cleveland State University in 2018 and became a board-certified music therapist in January of 2019. With this degree and profession comes the knowledge and skillset of numerous instruments, including voice (my primary instrument), guitar, piano, and ukulele. After moving to North Carolina she started a Baums Music school, were she teach piano to the class of 50 students. Her students knowledge evaluated through local and state festivals and competitions. Mayas students have won many prizes and rewords at the different levels. Maya was elected as a president of Raleigh Music Club and continues teaching out of a private home studio. After moving to Texas she restarted a Baums Music schools were she teach piano to the class of 25 students and teaches music at the Coppell Conservatory. Read More
