I most often choose the Alfred series for both beginner's and adults, as I like how in that series the student not only develops the necessary skills but also learns about how music works. I also like very much the Piano Town series and have used it with success. I start usually with Piano Adventures by Nancy and Randall Faber including Technique and Artistry Book, Theory book and Lesson Book . Additional solo repertoire might include Faber books on Jazz and Blues or Musical Theatre or Classics for children. Adults may start with Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course. I tend to custom the lesson plans related to the students interests too . My final goal is how to enjoy singing. In my opinion, the most important thing is that singing should be comfortable to both a singer and an audience. For this reason, I generally help them to sing comfortably. Most of the students have a common problem to sing. I would say it is artificial voice which makes their voice tired and injured.
