I thoroughly enjoy customizing each student's lesson according to their learning ability and make sure they excel and have fun. I utilize most of the time the Alfred Piano method both for school age and adults. When I feel the student is ready I supplement quite a lot with the Hanon exercises,Czerny and the Master Theory workbook(this works very well with the student who also desires to learn to play by ear as well.) For beginner students who are adults, I tend to begin with Alfreds Basic Adult All in One Course. It is a wonderful book that teaches beginning theory and piano concepts at the perfect pace for adult students. As we progress through the book together, I begin to give pieces such as Clementis Sonatina in C (first movement). We start at a slower tempo and work each hand individually until the student is comfortable to try both hands. Read More

I teach Classical and church piano, along with sightreading, ear training, performance techniques, music theory, and other techniques specially designed to give my students the most well-rounded learning experience possible. I tend to prefer Piano Adventures for younger students and teens, and incorporate use of the corresponding app whenever possible.
