Since I strongly believe each person has his own learning style, I cater each lesson to him personally. I customize each lesson according to my student and the pace appropriate for him. I give each student the freedom to learn and prove to themselves just how wonderful they can be. I sit down with each student and parent, if the parent is coming with them, in the beginning and discuss with them the importance of practice and what it does to help with the learning process. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with method books, and focus on teaching my students how to read notes and rhythms. With young students, I also prepare fun games and activities that will help them become acquainted with the keys on the piano. As the student progresses, I find and introduce new repertoire that is appropriate for their skill level.
