I think that is very important that the students enjoy playing their instrument. To achieve that, it is important that each student progresses at their own pace. Using their strengths and helping them get better at their weaknesses is one of my main goals as a teacher. I try to find what inspires them to keep the lessons interesting and fun. I always try to help them grow by challenging them but by also setting realistic goals. Read More

For beginning students, I use the first Essential Element book to introduce the first instrument and theory concepts. Once students have progressed past this book, I use the Tune a Day series along with the accompanying scale book. This book introduces students to solo and duet pieces worthy of a recital performance. Once they have reached the third book and are progressing through etudes, students begin working on individual solo repertoire pieces. Read More

I have been teaching since the summer of 2015. I have had students as young as three trough the age of early seventies. Since starting teaching at a private music school, I have found that classical music, along with modern music, helps to keep students of all ages engaged. Based on regular practice, fun music, and an upbeat atmosphere, students of all ages will learn music fundamentals and history all while having a great deal of fun. Read More

As a realist, I understand that each student will have their own pace when it comes to learning music. With that being said, I want to see students succeed when setting their goals, which means I will be able to understand their capabilities along with pushing them to new heights. I am hopeful that students seeing their goals being accomplished will keep them eager to learn new things and I am more than happy to acknowledge those achievements and help the student recognize their progress. I found to become an amazing teacher you must be an amazing student. I play both modern and classical styles. Read More

I believe that education is something that should be enjoyable, especially music. Music is something that inspires us and makes us happy. I encourage those ideas in lessons, and I focus on teaching students to play with musicality. For each individual student, I set reasonable goals for them at the end of each lesson. I also explain to them how to practice, and how to do so efficiently. Another idea I tend to focus on with my students is performance and how to practice performing. Read More
