Vocal: I meet students where they are, working on some repertoire they select while throwing in some of my own selections. My students generally focus on vowel shape, vocal placement, breathing technique, and expanding range through knowledge of the head, chest, and mix voices (including belting). I have been teaching private lessons since 2015, my freshman year in college. During that time, I have had students from a variety of ages, backgrounds, and levels of proficiency. My first teaching influence was my mom, who was a high school orchestra director and continues to teach strings to elementary school students part-time today. I am passionate about teaching kids (and adults) music fundamentals and about helping them find the spark that will keep them interested and growing. I believe it is important to teach good technical and musical habits from the beginning, along with basics of music theory. For all my students I design a fun atmosphere where they feel comfortable, stimulated and encouraged to absorb musical knowledge. Depending on their musical backgrounds and their ability I discuss with my students and their parents(depending on student's age) what is their primary goal to achieve during the lesson, what style they want to concentrate on. When we get to know each other I assign my student with Vaccai classical tune (practices vocal technique) and two songs in style preferred, when a student learns and masters these we move on, with more difficult tunes each time. I started teaching in high school. I was a successful performer, so people started asking if I teach. I studied and took online classes to strengthen my musical and vocal knowledge as a 16-year-old. I started teaching and built a successful 20-person studio in California for two years. Because of my time at the Frost School of Music, I have built a studio in Miami as well. I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students of all ages and levels. I currently attend Monmouth University and will be receiving a BM in Guitar Performance. I will also have a minor in Voice and Piano. Due to my career ending Division I soccer injury, performing has become one of my greatest loves, teaching is my first!
