Once the student has progressed and has a good grasp of the fundamentals, I will bring in other repertoire appropriate to their level. For students who are already in an instrumental program through school, I will start with whatever method book they are using at school, and branch off from there. Depending on the instrument, I will bring in another method book specific to that instrument book and we will also use some sort of etude book. I started growing my studio when I was in school, about 7 years ago, I was teaching at soundboard music in Stow, Ohio. My private studio kept growing so i decided to leave the music store and it has been growing since then. I graduated from the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory in 2018 with a Bachelors degree in Music Therapy. I studied percussion primarily in college, but also studied voice and piano during my time at Baldwin Wallace. During my undergraduate career, I performed with the Baldwin Wallace Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Baldwin Wallace Orchestra, and Baldwin Wallace Percussion Ensemble.
