All of my lessons are built around songs to teach technique and I add materials to teach theory and musicianship if the student wants and needs it. I always interview each student to find out their interests and desires and and build a custom curriculum eight lessons at a time to insure satisfaction and success on the students terms. As a performer, I was one of the winners of the 2009 SJSU French Music Competition, and one of the finalists of the 2013 BGSU Art Song Competition. In 2012-13, I served as the accompanist of the BGSU Men's Chorus, in which I've had the opportunity to participate in the performnace tour twice through 6 states along the East Coast. For beginning students, I use the Piano Adventure Series by Nancy Faber and Randall Faber. I also use the A Thousand Stories for a Little Pianist by Katrin Arefy. My special methods in teaching young students include stories, easy duets, and singing familiar folk songs. For intermediate level students, I use different method books according to the student's interests. However, I encourage them to play Classical music, which is very useful in developing good techniques in piano playing. Read More

Then working on reading music and learning repertoire. Also fun parts, which depend on the student. My experience dates back to when I was excepted into OSA High school, where I auditioned into the school for saxophone and piano officially graduating in 2008.
