I generally start with Hal Leonard Guitar Methods book one for beginners for basic music theory. This will teach the ins and outs of how music works and how to apply it to any music you are approaching no matter the genre. While we go through the books, we will incorporate music that the student wants to learn. We will breakdown why the music is the way it is and work up from the bottom how to play those songs. I am a well rounded and accomplished musician, and able to demonstrate advanced proficiency in music theory, composition and performance. My professional teaching experience dates back to 2002 and I have been fortunate to have been a full time music educator and private music lesson instructor since then. Additionally, I have years of experience providing live solo music in restaurants, bars, hotels, and for private parties and community events.I also enjoy incorporating digital music recording and media file sharing technology whenever possible in order to record original songs, document lessons progress, and to provide practice tracks for home use. My passion is performing and teaching drums. Ever since I picked up a pair of drumsticks for the first time two decades ago, I knew from then on I wanted to make teaching and performing my career. I have been teaching privately for over six years now and have played over 1000 live shows. Some of the bigger venues and festivals I have performed at are Mopop fest in Detroit, Lollapalooza in Chicago, Gathering of the Vibes in Bridgeport, NAMM conference in Anaheim and many more.
