Since graduating from Bethany College in 2010, I taught at a music studio in Wheeling, WV. Unfortunately, the studio closed down. Along with teaching there, I was giving private lessons from home and continue to do so. Teaching is something that gives me the opportunity to pass on what I've learned so far and also to instill students with the opportunity to continue a journey of lifelong learning with music. I perform with orchestras and chamber groups all over the Pennsylvania/Ohio area including the West Virginia Symphony orchestra. Additionally, I have an active chamber group, Kassia Ensemble, a mixed instrumentation group dedicated to furthering women's leadership in the arts. While I have a general curriculum, I am very flexible and try to adjust to my every student individually. Generally I like to employ books by Suzuki, as I find them very methodical, as well as easily accessible. I supplement the Suzuki books by Alwin Schroeder's 170 foundation studies, and lots of scales and technical exercises. I encourage active listening and work with a student to build confidence performing. My teaching experience began close to 10 years ago, beginning with private lessons and eventually moving towards chamber music and alternative styles. My performance experience began when I was six years old, and I've performed in many different types of areas, including: Solo, chamber music, orchestra, classical and fiddle competitions, musicals, small jazz ensembles, and chamber orchestra.
