Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop and hone their skills! I am extremely hands on and I listen very intently during my sessions. I have a great "ear" which is my best asset. I encourage each student to progress at his or her own pace. I encourage this by maintaining a stress free environment. This being said, some of the books I use depending on level for flute students; for the beginning students "Trevor Wye - Beginner's Book for the Flute" for advanced to very advanced students the "Etudes Et Exercices Techniques pour la flute" By Marcel Moyse. I'm pretty laidback and like to make the student feel comfortable. If given the opportunity I can definitely launch into some pretty passionate talks about music , to really reach out and teach my students some really cool things. At the same time though, i don't like to bore any student with certain topics if they aren't ready and willing to learn these things. It really depends on the student. I decided early on to become a musician and pursued this goal through my education. I started piano at age 8 and continued with them for the next 15 years. I also studied trumpet from elementary school through high school. After finishing my studies I began teaching to supplement my income. It would go on to be a full time profession. I am a knowledgeable musician who enjoys teaching classical guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar and musical theory. I graduated from Bloomsburg University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Guitar Performance. During my time there I performed in the annual guitar ensemble recitals, honors recitals and my own senior recital. Since graduating I have gone on to teach a diverse group of students of all ages.
