I began teaching informally to other musicians as part of my music practice, and found that I had a love of passing on what I've learned. I began teaching voice and beginning piano in 2019, and have kept it up ever since. I have taught pre-K children through adult professionals, with every age and skill level in between. I like to focus on the music with a relaxed approach and help create a positive and supportive environment with apatient, easy going manner. I'm comfortable going over small sections of music, looking at new material, exercises, practicing songs, explaining concepts that help the student gain insight and improve on the guitar. For my young piano students, I use the structure of the Faber series to slowly introduce concepts. For my guitar students I have had great success with the Mel Bay series, which combines initial chord playing and some music reading fundamentals. For ukulele, I utilize the Hal Leonard service. With all of my students, I always want to have the students choose songs they like and that they can set as realistic goals. Read More

Hello! I hold the positions of Principal Flute with the Allentown Symphony and Second Flute and Piccolo with the Philadelphia Ballet. I am also an active freelancer in the area with groups such as the Philadelphia Pops, Opera Philadelphia, Opera Delaware, Harrisburg Symphony, and more. I hold three degrees in classical flute performance from accredited institutions where I have studied with flute greats such as Jim Walker, Marianne Gedigian, and Timothy Day, and have performed all over the country in various professional orchestras and in chamber and solo events. For beginning students, children or adults, the first thing is to work on body position: the hands, arms, wrist and shoulder to avoid having the wrong positions of the body which could lead to physical problems in the future. Then it is important to learn the basic music skills: scales, arpeggios, basic harmony, and finger techniques. Once the students have progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals we can follow two parallel lines, studying advanced techniques and varied bass repertoire and at the same time focusing on what the student is interested in.
