I use Benny Greb's "The Language of Drumming" as it has proven to be a fun and effective learning tool for well over a decade. From there it's really dependent on the student and their learning style/pace. For many people, singing is all about having the confidence to try. I encourage all my students to sing out and not be afraid to make mistakes. I emphasize strengths and am always quick to point out the smallest of victories. Learning to sing is about consistency and knowing you're a work in progress. Even the most accomplished of singers are still learning and growing. I think the best sound comes from a relaxed and comfortable body, which is why I incorporate work on posture and movement to make sure you are uninhibited by body tension or stiffness. Read More
