Institutions include Washington National Opera at The Kennedy Center, Maryland Lyric Opera, Washington Concert Opera, Chautauqua Opera Company, Aspen Opera Theatre Center, Opera Camerata of Washington, The In-Series Opera, The Virginia Consort, Maryland Opera Studio, Washington Opera Society, Juilliard Opera, Central Maryland Chorale and President's Residence at University of Maryland. I offer a traditional string class. It includes Essential Elements and Suzuki Books. I also have recommended materials for diverse and interesting cello studies. I like to work with children of all ages and I enjoy helping them develop new skills, especially in the area of music performance. While living in Denton, Texas, I started teaching private voice and piano lessons near the end of my Master of Music studies in Vocal Performance in 2019. I was an independent contractor at three different music institutions at the time, and I taught lessons to over 30 students during the first year. I have taught a full range of ages and abilities from adult beginners to music school bound high schoolers to classes of young children and know that every student has a unique frame of reference and set of goals. For everyone, I focus on making the instrument feel as comfortable and organic as possible calling on my background with diverse movement modalities from Feldenkrais to dance to sports. I often recommend a Suzuki track for beginner students (I am SAA certified) and I always work to find repertoire and styles which are relatable for each individual. Read More
