To me, nothing is more satisfying then problem solving and that is what these lessons are. I help find the roadblock in the way of your student learning, and I give them the tools to fix it. As they practice more and more, they will start to figure out there own ways to fix issues. My favorite moments aren't during the lesson at the time, its the lesson next week where I hear the progress. Read More

I have a love for teaching students of all levels and ages. My specialty as a guitarist is in jazz, but I bring that love for improvised music to a number of other styles: blues, rock, funk, acoustic/fingerstyle, country, folk, ska, reggae, RB etc. I graduated from Duquesne University in 2013 with a degree in jazz performance. Pittsburgh is a great jazz town with a fantastic local scene, which was a very fun and nurturing environment for me as a student. Read More

I care about my students as people, because music must be integrated into their lives. Students relax into their lessons. There is plenty of praise and encouragement (as well as stickers and pencils!) Students proceed at their own pace, with an emphasis on core fundamentals. Lessons are fun, and rewarding, with the year end recital as the culmination of the year's work. Read More

Fundamentals of music notation sight reading are also incorperated into basic techniques in playing the instrument for beginners. Intermediate and Advanced players will continue to explore new techniques as well as have their skills challenged through appropriately assigned literature and modern songs. Read More

My teaching style is adaptive to the students goals! I am a fairly easy going teacher that will help meet students where they are at, and walk with them on their growth journey. We will progress at the student's personal pace. My style can range from working casually on a new song each week, trying to perfect that concerto you have been working on, helping pre-professionals get to the musical level they need to achieve to become a professional themselves, or somewhere in the middle!
