As the student learns the fundamentals I gradually add scales and exercises to further develop the student's technique. After further progress, I begin to introduce solo repertoire and add other pieces. I firmly believe for any instrument that everyone needs a strong foundation of rhythm in order to progress into more advanced levels of playing and reading. Once the beginning student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce more musical applications related to real music.
