I have once heard that the pursuit of music leads to a lifetime of happiness, and I am a firm believer in that mantra. My ultimate goal is for all my students to find joy in learning, studying, and playing music. Therefore, I often tried to make my lessons engaging and enjoyable. My students not only play the notes on the page, but learn about the background of the music they play, the history and the aerodynamics of the instrument that they play. Read More

My methods vary according to the students interests and development. But I also have a guideline of references. For the beginners, I like to use Faber Faber, Boris Berlin's Four Stars, and some Alfred's piano methods. As we go to intermediate, I focus mostly on repertoire, sight reading, harmonization and, if the student likes, some improvisation. The books vary according to the student. For advanced players, the focus is in the repertoire, so probably we will be using performance editions for the repertoire, with preference for the Urtext (original text) ones. Read More

For beginning students, I like to start with a combination of the Suzuki method and Essential Elements. As the student progresses, I will introduce solo repertoire according to their level. For adults, I will start with basic musical training and then we will move on to a repertoire that the student is interested in learning. Just like in music, behind every successful performance, there is a process of constant discipline, revision, and change, in life is not so different, behind every successful step there is a process of discipline, adaptation, and change. Love to be nice to people! Care for my students as persons and not as numbers. Have always some suggestions as far as repertoire goes. Im a welcoming teacher! Always have an ace under my sleeve as to how to approach certain repertoire and/or pieces. I am always open to suggestions by students as far as repertoire and technique goes, I consider myself a student, I might be more advanced than my students, but I am also a student and someone else happens to be my teacher, therefore I will always encourage good feedback from anyone. One of the most important aspects of teaching, is certainly to help my students develop a passion for music in general and in the piano in particular. Therefore, it's vital that my students progress at their own pace. Setting realistic goals for them, giving them the means to reach these goals, challenging them reasonnably, and acknowledging their accomplishments are the main ingredients of a wonderful, fulfilling, and enjoyable musical journey.
