I worked as a percussion instructor and I taught marching techniques, playing techniques, drills, and rehearsed parts within the section. I want to make sure that the student enjoys the piece that they are working on, and that it challenges their skill levels while still being able to be performed by them. Often they already have music that will work, to which I will add developemental studies of various sorts.
