Since graduating with a degree in music from UNC-G, I have been active as a professional musician, including performances with the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra, the Piedmont Triad Wind Symphony, the North Carolina Brass Band, the Shirelles, the Sammy Kaye Big Band, Susan Ray, Frank Fontaine, Jim Cole, and numerous rock and jazz groups, churches, and musical theater organizations. I was in choir and band all throughout middle/high school and went to college unsure if I wanted to focus on music or theatre. I was very active in both departments and continued to take private piano and voice lessons but theatre won out and my primary focus changed to scenic painting. Second, I like to cater the lessons to the student's particular interest, whether preparing solo pieces, practicing theory through ear training and sight reading, or writing compositions. I have a comfortable home teaching studio with a beautiful vintage drumset, a marimba, various percussion, and too many other instruments to list. I also have a comfortable waiting area for parents and/ or siblings (where you can hear the lesson in session, if you wish), as well as comfortable porch seating for nice days.
