My teaching experience started in Music Collage,where teaching of school age students was part of curriculum .After graduation from Kiev Conservatory I taught individual violin and viola lessons at Kiev Music School #10 for Gifted Children. Shortly after immigrating to the United States I joined the teaching staff of the Notre Dame School of Music,where I served as a violin teacher for 5 years. For students at the beginning and intermediate levels on all instruments I use the Rubank Method alongside appropriate solo literature for their ability level. It is a succinct, affordable resource that will not leave a student lacking. When I teach any advanced brass player I use Arbans conservatory method, Clarke Technical Studies, and the brass gym. While teaching, I aim to coordinate between two things. The first is to focus on the theoratical aspect of music to give the student the required basics regarding how to read musical notes. I also give the practice through Practical exercises to develope felxibility within the student while he or she is playing the instrument. I believe in the "one thing" lesson. If a student can improve on just one thing in a lesson than that lesson was successful. My past students would probably say I am overall a nice guy but incredibly picky when it comes to perfecting a piece and hold each of my students to a very high standard. I try to give immediate and concrete feedback at all times and my students know to ask for clarification if they need to. Read More

Hello future students! I much enjoy sharing my experience as a creative musician to my students whether they are 5 or 55, beginner or advanced. I am a patient teacher and do my best to encourage each student to find themselves as unique learners (musicians) unto themselves. I graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2002 with a BA focus on Music Composition. While recently living in NYC, I formed a 12-member saxophone orchestra, composed and recorded two symphonies, performed and recorded with the late Glenn Branca's 100 Guitar Ensemble, and provided live Sound Design for renowned poetess Anne Carson.
