For beginning students I typically start with Bastien piano books which have 4 different levels. Once they finish 4 levels, I will begin to introduce classical songs, Hymn, Jazz, Game music, Pop and also teach them free styles with chord progressions. Also, my students can learn any songs they want to play since I am able to remake songs based on their level. For adults, I focus on teaching the sight-reading skill with the right technic and theory and also my adult students can learn any genre of music with me. Read More

I thoroughly enjoy seeing students progress, and the main ingredient in progression is practice! I try to make sessions memorable and keep the content engaging so that students can carry that with them throughout the week. I find if students aren't engaged in what the current task is, they will find it difficult to move forward and progress through their learning process. I was very involved with the Lusaka music community, were I performed every month as a soloist as well as part of the chamber orchestra. Later on we moved to Uganda, were I continued my journey teaching and performing. In Kampala I started working part time as an assistant music teacher and flute teacher at the International School of Uganda. I hold degrees in flute performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and have performed and taught extensively in the Cleveland and western New York areas. I also have a special interest in music theory and music history, having earned Early Music Performer's Certificates through the joint music program with Case Western Reserve University and tutored music theory at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Bob is an accomplished classical guitarist, arranger and teacher based out of Gaithersburg. He performs regularly at public and private events and functions.
