I graduated from George Mason University with a Master in Vocal Pedagogy and Bachelor of Music degree in piano and voice. I have the Artist Diploma in Vocal Performance at The Royal Conservatoire of Monaco. I was the Semi-Finalist of NATS, singing fluently in Italian, German, French, Latin and Korean. My teaching method depends on what the student wants to learn, if they prefer to start learning songs first that is fine but I will still make sure to cover basic music principles in early lessons and incorporate them into the lessons. I can also start with method books but I have found that students don't always want to start there. All voice students will gain a working knowledge of English, Italian, French, and German basic translations, pronunciation, and performance styles; along with IPA phonetics. Theory and Composition students will work from Alfred's Essentials of Music Theory and William Russo's Composing Music as well as supplemental activities. They will compose both by hand and with Finale. Advanced students will be introduced to symphonic composition, arranging, and orchestration.
