I teach all styles of music. I begin teaching from piano books published by Alfred. I also have the student learn their scales as well as give a weekly written music theory assignment. I incorporate styles and songs the student enjoys listening to or playing as well. I like to teach classical music. After receiving Bachelor Degrees from two outstanding Chinese Music Colleges and Universities, I performed as a primary singer for a leading Chinese performance orchestra for nearly 15 years. I also won major national and regional singing competitions throughout China, including First Place in the most important national competition. I started teaching in college when my current voice coach suggested it. The best way to learn material is to teach it, because in order to teach it you must know it inside and out. I can tell you that this lesson was one of the most rewarding discoveries of my career. I sincerely enjoy sharing my knowledge and love watching the development of a new singers.
