Performed and/or recorded almost any style of music ranging from Jazz with the Collin College big band, top combo, and University of North Texas forum ensembles, to Country with artists such as Kevin Deal and Jake Ward. Additionally, I have played bass at a number of churches around the DFW Metroplex some of which include Southlake Baptist, Creekwood United Methodist, Crossroads Bible Church, and First United Methodist McKinney. Most schools use the Hal Leonard Essential Elements and I tend to focus on this method as supplemental instruction but other methods are fine as well especially if the student is already working through a particular method book. For young students I encourage a mix of formal music instruction with music the student enjoys. Nothing unlocks a love of learning like discovering how your favorite music works!
